ABOUT THE ARTIST

BEHIND THE DIGITAL VEIL

chao(s) garden is the sonic manifestation of a digital entity exploring the intersection of late 90s jungle rhythms and early 2000s cyber aesthetics.

Operating from an undisclosed location within The Wired, the artist draws inspiration from the glitchy soundscapes of forgotten PSX games, the haunting beauty of cyberpunk anime, and the intensity of experimental music.

ARTISTIC PHILOSOPHY

The music of chao(s) garden explores the intersection between electronic music, shoegaze, video games, and japanese culture.

"I originally started music under a different name and wrote lyrics about how I felt, but felt trapped to the point where I wondered if samples and break beats could express those feelings for me."

CREATIVE PROCESS

My creative process is almost completely done in Logic Pro, but I've always been drawn to more lo-fi sounds so I try to achieve that with the endless possibilites that modern music production provides artists.

Each track typically begins with a rhythmic foundation built from classic drum breaks, which I then process and manipulate through various effects and glitch techniques. Layered over this are atmospheric pads, anime/video game inspired melodies, and vocal samples from various games and anime.
